A good RFID order starts with a clear technical reference and quantities split by variant. The total number of employees or visitors is not enough: you also need to distinguish technologies, formats and replacement needs.
This checklist helps you prepare a purchase of standard credentials for a business, an operator or an installer, then organise their reception.
Establish a validated reference for each installation
For each site, note the reader in use, the required chip technology and the enrolment procedure. If several installations coexist, do not assume they accept the same badge. A reference that has already been tested is more useful than a description such as “white RFID card”.
Then choose the format according to the use case: PVC card for a badge holder, ABS key fob for a keyring, or wristband for wrist wear. This physical choice never replaces selecting the correct chip.
Before a first deployment or a change of reference, plan a reading and integration test on the actual installation. Have it validated by the person who administers the system. Consult our compatibility guide if the available information is incomplete.
Split quantities and check the cart
Draw up one line per useful combination: product, chip, colour and quantity. Two colours can make distribution easier, but they do not automatically create different access rights. The allocation of permissions remains an operation within the management system.
Add a replacement stock suited to your operations and your history of losses. Avoid an arbitrary percentage if you do not yet have enough hindsight: instead, identify the people concerned, planned arrivals and how credentials will be reassigned.
Each product page may apply a minimum quantity and an order increment. Check these rules after selecting the variant. Do not confuse the unit price displayed with the lot total; the cart allows you to review quantities, any applicable discounts and the amounts applicable to the order.
- One line per variant actually needed.
- A quantity compatible with the minimum and increment shown.
- An exact delivery address and billing details.
- A check of the total, taxes and shipping before confirming.
Prepare reception and commissioning
Check the availability shown and ask for confirmation of the schedule if your project depends on a specific date. Transport is only part of the planning: receiving, checking and enrolling credentials also takes time. No generic lead time replaces confirmation tailored to your order.
On receipt, match the references and quantities against your purchase. Separate batches by technology, then check one representative credential from each reference before distribution. Keep the product information and the validated procedure to simplify a repeat order.
Finally, remind your teams that standard products are not automatically activated in readers. The assignment and revocation of access rights must be carried out by the installation administrator.
